Cross Dress Street Mime

Pin It Male society as far as Zulu people are concerned is very male indeed. So when these two male mime artists dressed in drag do a street performance for money, it created something of a sensation for locals who gathered and laughed enthusiastically at the performance.

Young unemployed folk started a few years ago to stand around parts of Durban, South Africa as if they were statues, waiting for a donation, whereupon they would rapidly assume a new stance. The use of white clay on parts of the body is quite characteristic of these performers, but the acting out of drag performances is a newish phenomenon.
